Working with Graphs
Working with Graphs
The primary function of SAIS is to enable you to define and build a graph that displays information students' academic achievements.
To build the defined graph, SAIS accesses student achievement data that has been entered by teachers into SIS.
The resulting graph can be saved as a 'snapshot', and the definition of the graph can be add to your 'favourites' for future use.
Graph images can be included in hardcopy reports, or as part of a presentation to parents or other teachers.
The Graph Definition Process
The process that you follow to define a graph comprises the following steps:
The choice of students or groups (or both) is dependant on the graph type that you have selected. The options for making the choice are displayed in context to the graph type chosen.
For example, if you choose a graph type that is only applicable to individual students rather than groups (such as the Individual Student Achievement graph types), only the Student options are available.
If you choose a graph type that is only applicable to groups (such as the Grade Distribution graph types), only the Group options are available.
However, if you choose a graph type that requires data for both individual students and groups (such as the Individual Student Course Analysis graph type), both the Student and Group options are available.

Each of the steps in this process is achieved by selecting the appropriate tab on the screen and making your selections.

Once you have defined the graph as described, you are ready to build and start working with the graph.
