Greater autonomy for Independent Public Schools
Thirty four schools step into a new education era from the beginning of next year as Independent Public Schools. More will follow as we expand the drive to offer schools greater flexibility to make decisions at the local level.
The 34 schools in the first intake were selected from more than 100 schools which expressed an interest.
If your school is one of the 34, it means your principal will work closely with you through the School Council (Board) to develop education programs to meet the needs and aspirations of your community.
