One tip is to walk or drive past the school and talk positively about school and the friends your child will make.

Aboriginal languages alive and strong
Almost 6000 students from Kindergarten to Year 11 are learning an Aboriginal language in 79 public schools across Western Australia.
At one school - Brookman Primary School in Perth's southern suburb of Langford - Year 5/6 students are creating their own Noongar language books.

The music is everything
Among half a million students around Australia singing the same song at the same time on the same day on 22 October were students at East Victoria Park Primary School.
The school was one of nearly 2000 schools taking part in Music, Count Us In, a program to promote the value of music in schools.
The 2009 song, called 'The Music is Everything', was written by four NSW secondary students in a songwriting workshop led by John Foreman.
