SAIS Roles

Roles are used within SAIS to determine the access levels and permissions that the user has when working with the system. When a new user is created they are assigned one or more roles.

SAIS provides seven user roles, as follows:

Role	Description
Teacher	This role enables the teacher to perform achievement analysis tasks for their own classes and students. Analysis against aggregated District data is also allowed. This role is automatically assigned to all school teachers.
School Enquiry	This role enables the user to perform achievement analysis tasks for their own school, classes and students. Analysis against aggregated District data is also allowed.
Principal	This role enables the Principal to perform achievement analysis tasks for their own school, classes and students. Analysis against aggregated District data is also allowed. The Principal can also delegate the 'School Enquiry' role to members of their staff. This role is automatically assigned to all school Principals.
MAZEUpload	This role grants the user the same privileges as the School Enquiry role, plus the ability to upload MAZE data for their assigned school.
District Enquiry	This role enables the user to perform achievement analysis tasks for all schools and students within their District.
Enquiry	This role enables the user to perform achievement analysis tasks across the state.
Administrator	This role enables the user to manage other users' access to SAIS and perform all system administration tasks.

In many cases, your role will determine what options you see, and what actions you can perform, within SAIS. For example, a user that has been assigned the School Enquiry role will not be able to access some of the menu options that are available to a user that has been assigned the Administrator role.

i	If a procedure within this guide describes an option or action that is not available to you on the screen, it is because your role does not allow you that level of access.
